Do I need a lawyer to get divorced in Florida?
No. Florida allows self-represented litigants to file without a lawyer.
However, in case you need legal advice, you should contact a lawyer. If you do not require legal advice or legal representation, then we are here to assist you.
How much is a non-lawyer divorce assistance service?
The cost will depend on the type of divorce you need to file (simplified divorce; simple divorce, divorce with minor or dependent children, etc), because each type requires a specific amount of forms. But rest assured our service shall be covered by a flat fee.
What are the requirements to file for divorce in Florida?
In order to file for divorce in Florida, you need to show proof that you or your spouse have resided in the State of Florida for at least 6 months immediately before the date of filing.
I do not know where my spouse is. Can I still divorce in Florida?
Yes. Since you do not know the whereabouts of your spouse, the Court shall do a publication for 4 weeks, and after that, your spouse shall be deemed “served”. It is called “constructive service”
I got married in another country. Can I divorce in Florida?
Yes. If you (and/or your spouse) have resided in Florida for a minimum of 6 months, then you can file for divorce in Florida
